Hagerty s2000 thingy

p.s. I do feel bad for those of you who have to put your S away for months on end.
happy to help. The video captures the sound and excitement of the cars we love. Not really a buyer's guide, per se, but makes me want to drive mine again...in the spring. Its sitting in a 65 degree slumber.

While S2000's have definitely experienced a bump, it seems that this is a phenomena experienced across the board by the majority of collector/classic/enthusiast cars. It no doubt has varied to some degree from one make/model to the next, but these classes of vehicles all received a noticeable bump due to the pandemic. I learned this from a Hagerty representative last year when I called to raise the coverage on my S. He said it was the craziest thing he had seen in all of the years he'd been working there. It wasn't just collector type cars by the way. Motorcycles, that had been experiencing a steady drop in sales for many, many years, saw a huge bump — the first real uptick in quite some time. I doubt that anyone could fully and accurately explain exactly why all of this occurred, but there are no doubt an endless number of theories.

Typically here in Vermont the ground is frozen, and there is snow cover, for about four months a year, which for most enthusiasts means the motorcycles and sports cars go to sleep mid-late October, and they wake up around mid April after the salt has been washed off the roads by rain.
Most people here enjoy the winter months. But, its also true that without the months of frozen ground you cannot have the absolutely glorious spring awakening that we enjoy every year, not to mention the spectacular fall foliage in October. It is the rhythm of life here. I love it. I would not trade it for anything.

Thanks for the post Darcy, I saw it before you posted it. Sam Smith is one of the top auto journalists. He recently left R&T to write for Hagerty. Some of his columns in R&T are among the best auto writing I have ever read. Peter Egan type quality. Sam owns the fabled Integra Type R so he doesn't need an S2000. He is also a BMW 2002 racer. All things close to my heart.
