The hail got my car
Black AP2 in an open parking lot, apartment complex in Atlanta. I guess it was bound to happen. Saturday, we had over 5 Tornadoes touch down around the state within a few hours. Up on my side of town, north of Atlanta, wasn't so much the tornado but the hail. The hail came down so quick I didn't have time to react. My car was parked outside and got the blunt of it. Albeit, marble sized but it had enough velocity to leave dings all over my car and also managed to crack my rear trunk lid tail light.
I washed and polished the car thoroughly yesterday so to clearly see all the damage. The paint also got attacked from all the fallen pine needles. Needles and twigs dried and deposited sap all over the car. Took about 2 hours to get off all the sap.
So where do I go from here? Should I call the insurance company or take it on myself. The digs are pretty much all over. Only 1 or 2 are major but others look as if it was just the paint that was pushed in. Anyway... never been through this so its my best guess.
Should I find a ding remover... get a new paint job at the expense of my insurance company...?
Anyway, what do you all think?
P.S. I'm investing in a car cover... I only really drive the S2000 when/if I'm going out for the evening or over the weekends since I have a daily driver.

Call the insurance company. A few years back my friend go caught in a hailstorm in his G35 and it destroyed the hood. One call to insurance company and he was in the process of being fixed up.
You might have to pay deductible, but at least you will get it fixed right.

My GTI managed to survive undamaged. Largest hail was a bit smaller then dime sized when that weather front moved through west Texas last week. Another round on the way. My S stays in the garage.

Paintless dent removal will take care of it. I had an Altima get damaged in Atlanta in 98 and the damage was bad. Amazing job for 500 back then(hood and trunk) . Then you don't have to worry about painting.
