which handles better....
for most people i would say the M roadster. it's faster and got DSC and easier to take to limits than a s2000 anyday.
The 2 m roadster comes with 315hp and from my bmw people i have seen how they handle.

actually, if we're just talking about handling, i think the s2000 is superior. the m is too softly sprung and understeers at the limit, or so i hear. (there's a guy on this board with an m roadster, any first-hand experience?)
but i don't think an s2000 can necessarily beat an m roadster at the track. the '02+ models have a serious power advantage - more than enough to make up for the softer (but only just) suspension. thus, on "bigger" tracks with fast sweepers and no serious hairpins, the m roadster is probably the one to beat, but i seriously think the s2000 is better through the tight stuff (at the limit, at least).
earlier m roadsters (the 240bhp models), i don't think, can hang with an s2000 period - provided both drivers have equal skill.

The S2000 will have an easier time around tight corners as it's much lighter and more nimble. But on most track the M Roadster will eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you spin out in the M Roadster you were doing something really foolish. But if you spin out in the S2000 you were simply driving too hard.
S2000 handles MUCH better. The S2000 also has MUCH better feedback and over all feel.. In the S2000 you feel connected to the car and the road.
I have a 01 M coupe (like a M roadster but with hard top and hatch back) which handles better than the M roadster. When my friend follows me in his M Coupe around the turns where HP does not matter, I easily outhandle him in the s2000.
One time we both took a 90 degree turn at the same speed, me in the s2000 and my friend in his M Coupe. The S2000 hugged the 90 degree turn like on rails and I was in full control and through the whole turn was able to stay on the inside lane. My tires did not even chirp.
My Friend in the M Coupe had to finish the turn on the outside lane, I can see his tail wobble as he tries to maintain control mid turn. I heard his tires complain and his DSC came on to help the car through the turn. By the end of the turn he was 2 car lengths behind.

Before taking delivery on my S I drove an M roadster. While I was impressed by the raw power of the M roadster I was disappointed with the car's overall handling. You would think that BMW would further tighten the suspension on the M. The S feels better in the twisties and coupled with the price difference that is what sold me on the S.
