Default hard to clean?

I've been reading all the threads for quite a while now. A lot of people say that a black stook is very hard to keep clean. If you're an owner of a black stook, how much time do you put in washing and waxing your s2000. Do you wash it daily, weekly, ... ?

I think that with any hard to clean color (black, red), the key is keeping a really really good coat of wax on it at all times. This will make it easy to clean when you do have to (bird droppings and tree sap will roll right off...sort of).

although i have a silver one, all my other previous cars have been black. and even though i think that the color is one of the best for cars, i was either washing or dusting my other cars weekly...minimum. it would have been more but i was just too busy during the week to clean it. and this eventually wore on me as you eventually get lazy and then you are driving around in a dirty car.

everything shows up against the black paint better. water or dirt spots especially. paint swirls if and when they show suck bad. Scratches and pits show extremely well. Even bird crap stands out more. dust isn't that bad as long as you don't break the even coat of dust by touching it. then it looks bad and you got to dust it. the cleaning maintenance of the silver is a breeze in comparison...

Every couple of days at a minimum to keep the dust off...and a sponge-bath after a weekend drive.

A weekly wash is enough for me but I do not use it as a daily drive.
It looks amazing when clean though

I've owned a number of black cars. Here's my .02:

1. Use a car cover, even in the garage.
2. California Car Duster before/after a drive.
3. Remove bugs off the front before bed-time.
4. Bottle of mist detailer and cotton cloth in the trunk for that bird "mishap" thing.
5. If it does become dirty, wash it before doing numbers 1 through 4!

Wash it once every 2 weeks and 3 layers of wax and polish every 4 weeks to keep it generally clean. Car cover when the car is not in use in the garage. Dust is extremely static loving to black cars and it's the one thing that annoys me the most. Other than which, alot of patience and car is needed for it to always stay impressive. Not an easy color to maintain.

I have a black S2000 and a black Ford Focus. Yes, they can show dirt and dust easily. As to dust, it has become a thing of the past now that I use the California Duster Thingy. It just takes that dusty layer right off. Right back to a great looking shine.

I wash my cars weekly and us a soft clean cotton terry cloth towel for drying off. Once dry, it shines like a mirror again.

If I had a yellow, red, or silver one, I would be doing the very same thing, so no extra work for me. The black, when it is clean and waxed, looks like liquid metal. Even when my Focus is looking like is should, I get a lot of comments on it's looks. I don't think I would get the comments on my Focus if it was a clean, shiny white or silver one. There is something about that rich reflection that you get on a perfectly waxed and buffed black car.

Not to say I don't also love the looks of the red and yellow, cause I would be just as happy with those colors, too.

All black cars are hard to keep clean but I've always thought they look the best!

I currently have two black cars. . .my S2000 and my wife's Accord!

I clean my S2000 on average about every 4 days. That's even with it staying in the garage through the night! I wash my wife's Accord once a week and she does'nt garage her's! (not enough room) plus my John Deere needs space!

Hey, my wife has the whole house, can I not at least have the garage!
