Friggin dealers! I went to have my oil changed at the dealer and, while waiting, asked about the hardtop. No information.

I just happened to have the part number for the black top in my wallet (thanks S2Ki.com) and the parts guy said he could not find it in the computer. Wackiness

Anyhoo, what would you guys think about a black hardtop on a silver stook? Kinda keeping with the convertible color motif

Zoinks, it's not your dealer's fault that they couldn't find that part in their database.

The part numbers on S2KI.com will never be in the US Honda database, they are part numbers for Japanese market parts.

I've been searching for the US part numbers for some time, but as yet they haven't been released.

Although at a price of $3K, the MG Racing carbon fiber top at $4K(?) sounds tempting.

I toyed with that idea but chose to order a silver hardtop for my silver car. I think it might look strange, like it doesn't quite belong on the car, and i can't afford to take that chance. Would be nice if someone else tried - and posted some pics - though.

I think a matte black top will look good on the other colors, but the top offered by Honda is a glossy black. I think it will look a bit strange.

This is another reason I'm considering a carbon fiber top. I think it will look a lot like the stock soft top.

I am quite surprised that the hardtop will only be available in January in the US. In Europe it has been available for almost 6 months now.

I have a question...

What is the point of a hardtop? I don't know about YOUR S2000's, but MY S2000 is a convertible. Therefore the top goes DOWN...why would I cover that up!? Help me out on this one...

Only one use that I can imagine would be a racetrack in lieu of a rollbar...what do you guys know about that? Does having the hardtop circumvent the need to have a rollbar? If so, that's the only reason that I would want one...

Aren't your S2000's convertibles, like mine is!??

Greg,

They're not convertibles, their cars with imaginary hardtops!

Hardtop? Bah! I got a convertible and intend todrive it top down only. But thats just me, I have two other cars to play with in the rain. If it were my only car, I'd highly ocnsider it, but then again, I wouldn't onlly have a S2k as my only. my 0.02 yuan! =)
