Has anyone received any prices or availibility dates for the Hardtop in the US? Has anyone received a discounted quote or are all the dealers selling them at list?

Oh, and doesn anyone know the part numbers of the tops? Enough questions for one post

I think I could talk my dealer into selling me one at a discount, but I'd like to know what the cost on the item is.

Actually, I'd like to get the Carbon Fiber top Giampiero is working on, but as yet there is no price or estimated delivery date.

Don't know the part # for the top but I can get it on Monday. Email me if you still don't have it by then. List price is approx. $3,000.00. I expect discounts, if any, will vary by dealer.

From what I understand, it is a very involved installation process. My dealer told me at least 3 hours because their technicians might have difficulty! If you check out the Japan Honda website, you can see just how complicated the install is. Lots of mounting and attachment points need to be installed... along with the rear window heater mechanism! Check out the site... it's in japanese... but the pictures are nice to look at!

Anyone know how to translate some of that stuff?

Spoon AP1,
try http://www.alis.com/cgi-bin/transdemo.pl

Since you're in Vancouver, have you ordered yours yet? I ordered mine 2 weeks ago, and checked in with my parts manager today...he had a memo from Honda Canada which said that production will start in Feb 2001 and will ship Mar 2001. Just thought you'd be interested.

Arthur,

Thanks for the translation site... it's very cool! And yes, I ordered mine about 2 weeks ago too. Thanks for asking! Isn't the web great? My dealer didn't have a clue until I asked HIM about it... hehehe. By the way, how much is your dealer charging? Mine wants $4700 before taxes... but that includes installation (they said something like $4400 for the hardtop and $300 for install). Ouch... expensive as all hell, but still want one. What color combo you got? I'm still waiting for my car to arrive!

By the way... cool user name...

You in Vancouver too?

Spoon AP1,

Just saw your post...the @home servers have been down since

Ouch! I deal with Marv Jones in Maple Ridge, and they are very fair with prices of parts & service. I got the car for below msrp, and took delivery 3 weeks from order The parts manager told me a listed price for the hardtop of $4420, but gave it to me for $4000 + $180 installation. And they were willing to take $2000 as deposit...I heard on the old board about someone in BC having to prepay in full

I'm in Port Coquitlam...close by.
What colour did you order? Hope yours arrives soon
