I am saving like a mad man to buy the car for my dreams 2003 s2000 red with black leather. I have been saving for 3 years now and the end is near. This June I hope to be a proud new owner. The question I have for everybody is what options would you offer? Is the hard top worth it. I heard it is good for trips over two hours? This car is a 3rd car along with a 96 civic and 98 accord, so it is just for fun and weekend trips. Any info would help.
Thanks
Bilyum
If I lived in a frozen wasteland like you I would seriously consider a hardtop.
Personally, I leave the top down all the time.
[Don't take the \"wasteland\" part seriously, please.]
As for a two-hour drive, it's good for much longer than that. Follow the link in my signature to read my notes from a trip I took where I drove all day long every day for two weeks. I had very few complaints about the car.
I ordered my car with two options only.
Black chrome and the hardtop. Although I do live in a frozen waste land, I do not drive in the winter, but I do drive at the track. I love the 2 in 1 cars I get with the hardtop. I for one say it is well worth the money!
I thought about a hardtop, but I'm glad I didn't buy it. I almost always have the top down regardless of the temperature. When its raining, snowing or the weather is too bad for top down driving I generally use my 4Runner. If I had the hardtop I probably wouldn't take it off until spring, but I would miss all of the winter top down driving.
The one option that I didn't buy but should have is the 6 cd changer. It is way too difficult to try to change cds while driving. With the cd changer I'd only have to push a button. This is especially handy when I'm going to or coming from a place an hour or two away. I'm probably going to buy the Alpine.
