Default Hard top storage

I bought my 02 about 2 months ago and I am now ready to store my oem hard top. They gave me some device that is supposed to hold it but every time I put it on it gets top heavy and starts to fall over. Does any one know how to store your hard top on this piece of crap without having to have it lean against a wall?

It is, but im afraid then you would have to worry about how to store it. I would feel horrible making you go through all that trouble so I will hang on to it for now.

Can you be a little bit more specific as to what you are using

Perhaps the OEM Hardtop Stand would be a good purchase? (:

I've also seen "crain" rigs that you mount to your garage ceiling. That would seem to serve doubly well.

I have the oem hard top carrier and that is what I can not get to work. Every time i put the top on it there is to much weight hanging over the front and it falls forward. It does not matter if I put the rear window down on the rubber bottom or the front of the top down first.

There are many ways to hang the top so that it's a one person job to r/r. You can build and attach one for less than $20.00 and it's pretty easy to do.

I havent seen the OEM hardtop stand so I cannot comment on this. However, there have been very solid stands made by people using PVC piping that seem very stable.

It makes no sense that the OEM carrier is not working. It was designed for the top afterall. Perhaps you just have not hit the right position for placing the top on it yet?
