Default Hard top strikers

ok i've noticed on the highway that i can hear wind noise between the top and the windsheild. I searched on here first and found that i should replace the strikers with Hard top ones. i've looked at pics on a site and the ones i have look to be the same. The one thing i noticed was that where the locking pin, locks onto the striker, it looks to be worn or chipped. what i really need is pics of what the striker looks like brand new or close to brand new and have something to compare mine with. I may order new ones but not to sure if i should. I've looked at all the searched ones and can't find any pics of them. oh yeah i have a 01 S. Please help me out. i can't stand the noise.

dealer should be able to run the VIN and tell you in they were replaced.

Doesn't matter if they're hardtop strikers or not, they will eventually wear down, just slower maybe. As a quick fix, you can swap the two from side to side. The wear on the striker is usually on one side of the latch point. By swapping them, you give the latch a fresh area.

a cheap trick that you might want to try first:

i just bought some of that air hose that is used in fish tanks and cut a very small piece and put it over the finger of the top latch hook... tightened it up nicely, was a very easy install and also cheap!

Can you post a picture of the old and new strikers. And if you can see any kind of part number on the old and new parts, please post those as well. It'll help all of us to identify what we have and whether ours are the old part or the new part. Thanks.

Any chance for some pictures to help us identify the different striker plates? Thanks.

here are pics of old and new strikers.

the outer strikers are old ones and the new hard top one is the middle one. will also notice that the new striker middle part has a smaller area.
