Uhm, look at the shape/silhouette of the tops in your comparison pictures. They are pretty much the same aside from the size of the rear window. The hardtops (not the lines of the car) are the only similarities between the S and the Miata, IMO.

Mugen carbon fiber hardtop to go with the rest of the theme. The interior looks spectacular too with the exposed carbon fiber.
