Default Hardtop Color Question

I tried the search function and well it came up with 272 pages...

So I'm interested in getting an OEM hardtop for my S, in preperation for winter. I have a couple of questions. I've heard the hardtops won't always have an exact color match, which I can understand. But just how bad can that be? Anyone have an experience with a bad hardtop purchase(s)? Also I have a sebring s2k and the obvious choice would be a same color match. But I was wondering if anyone has a black roof with a different color body. I think it might look good, but I just can't picture it in my head. Does anyone have pictures of this?

Thanks, Derek

if it's oem, get the same color as your car. the difference in paint color isn't that noticeable. if you want a "black" hardtop, make sure it's carbon fiber or aftermarket, otherwise

I would go with a sebring top to keep the car nice and clean looking. If you wanna go with a black top then get a CF hardtop and go with a mugen top.

With OEM, like said above, you really can't tell too much. Get it color matched. Black would just look like crap, IMO.

And the search function here really blows.

I have the OEM silver top on my '04 Sebring. I can't tell any difference. Makes the car look totally different.

I've seen black on sebring silver and it looked great.

If you get black, leave the windshield frame tape in place.

If you get sebring silver, remove the black windshield frame tape to expose the sebring colour underneath.

black top looks good on any color..... reasons for this..

1. your soft top is black.....
2. if you have your windshield frame tape still on... it's black so it matches and it flows..

if you paint the top then take your windshield frame tape off so everything will match...

I've considered getting Black for my Silverstone... I personally don't care for the hardtop matching the car color......for ONE you have to peel the black tape for it to look good....and after you've done that, your screwed when you want to use your soft top again.... Now you have windshield that looks a foot taller than OEM..
