i just got an oem HT for my 2003. My car currently have the hardtop striker installed because of the soft top winding.

i do not have my soft top striker anymore.

do I really need to put soft top striker back to make the hard top work ? It seems to work but I find it is stretching a bit and I don’t want to mess the HT.
