I ordered a hardtop for my white 04. I paid $ 3227 total installed, with tax included. I also had to pay up front. Evidently people order them, then change their minds and stick the dealer with a high price, low demand product. I think it will be a great addition.

Please do not let this initial booboo deter you from posting in future. Be very wary of what kinds of information to believe, especially if someone at a dealer told it to you. I see you are not only new here but a new S2000 owner. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the dealer who told you how much their "cost" is on a hardtop and that it was your dealer who told you it is a "must" to have a stand. Did they try to sell you a car cover too? Wait till they rotate your tires and put in the wrong diff fluid when the time comes or lose your oil fill cap down onto the top of the tranny. I'm sure then, you will understand what I've just said.

It is painfully obvious that whoever gave you the info on dealer cost of the hardtop LIED to you BIG TIME and whoever told you that a stand is an absolute must was only thinking about another high profit sale. I would bet that only a small fraction of 1% of all hardtop owners actually bought a Honda HT stand and I'd also guess that far fewer owners paid retail for their HTs than those who paid less.

Stick around and learn about your new car from people who will not lie to you and from people who know about the ins and outs of this car far better than your dealership ever will.

Welcome and I hope we see more of you in the times to come.

Hope it doesn't take as long for you to get your white hardtop as it took for mine... I waited about 7 months for the damn thing to show up

But once they installed it I knew it was well worth the wait, and every damn dollar it cost.

What's with the harsh reply? And $2999 isn't the dealer invoice. That's the retail price of the hardtop. Invoice is around $2250.

Hey kid,

You've been here 9 days, pissing off people who have been here for years, acting like a spoiled child....

Go away.

(Let's hope when he spins out on bald S02s, neglects to check the dipstick, or has a nice 4-->2 misshift, that'll be the end of his S2k days.... here's to hoping that he does it without hurting any innocent bystanders.)
