Default Hardtop Question! 44Lbs?

From what I've read, all the new OEM hardtops are 44lbs made out of aluminum. Are the older tops, like 03/04's 44lbs as well?
Or is there a earlier top and if so what years??
Thanks, Butch

The S2000 HT has always been advertised as being ~44lbs. IIRC, the HT was first available in 2001.

Mugen FRP hardtop is around the same weight as the OEM, give or take a few lbs. But if you add things such as cabin liner and glass to it, it should get quite heavier.

Both the Mugen FRP and OEM HT are advertised as 44lbs. I have owned both and i can tell you the OEM is significantly heavier than the Mugen. So either the mugen is lighter than 44lbs. or the oem is heavier than 44lbs. I'm thinking its the latter.

why do you ask such a question?... is it because you weigh 250+pounds and every lbs counts in a race or something?

What a Honda-tech answer.

There are major differences in the OEM and Mugen that matter. The big blind spot in the Mugen for instance. No liner, or rear defrost. These should probably be taken into consideration a little more than weight.

I know they are both listed as the same weight and the people listing it are people who ship them (kingmotorsports and HT Guy) I dont think either one of them would mislead people, thou it is hard for me to believe they are the same weight
