Default hardtop question

I found an oem hard top on ebay for a really good price. But it says its only for 2003-2008. I have a 2001. Is the hardware that much different between the years? Heres the link to the auction. Auction Link

I'm new to the whole S2k scene myself, but I think the design is the same, except for the defroster wiring in place for glass window equipt models.

Well the defrost thing is not a big deal to me since I have a beater for winter season. Can anyone else confirm that the hardware from a 2003 will work on a 2001 besides the defrost?

The wiring is the only difference. It can be purchased at a later date if you decide you want it.

I heard for pre-2002 you have to change the strikers in order for the hardtop to fit correctly. Is this true? Is it supplied with the hardware?

Looks like I may be getting a hardtop as long as the shipping isn't an arm and a leg.

The kit should come with the front catches/strikers. The Pre 02 one are a softer metal. You can see a groove in them sometimes.

THe hardtop is the same, the mounting hardware changes.

Check hardtopguy.com for a kit.
