Default Hardtop storage rack

Was thinking about making this one. Has anyone tried this or is there a better one out there?
Thanks

I made that one. Works great - only other thing I would consider is a hoist, but my ceiling isn't high enough and I'd be scared of the results if it dropped (I'm paranoid).

Julius just do the ninja turtle.... it's all good.

I have an OEM hardtop stand that I might be willing to part with..... if the price is right...

Made the plastic one in the start-post just 2 days ago....
... will put the Hardtop on it next week.

Looks promising...

Here in Holland the OEM Honda version costs $1550....
... that's why you want to make one yourself.

Made one myself, using the same dimensions as the PVC one, but mine is made out of steel.

Steel is strong.

That's cool, but how much does it weigh? If the OEM top only weighs in at 40lbs., it would be a bit of a bust for the stand to weigh in close to that, wouldn't it? I mean, after all, the stand is stationary and does not require a lot of attention, does it?

i have the pvc one and it works just fine. Only thing better than making one is buying one used.

I got mine for significantly cheaper than what it would cost to make it. FYI: the pvc stand cost more than 40 bucks and takes longer to build than 40 minutes. But its still WAY cheaper than the honda stand.

Steel is over the top

I really see no point in making an 100lbs framework for a 40lbs top.

Yeah, that steel one has got to be too much...

I built the PVC version from that schematic, but I only have one gripe: when the top is on the rack, I personally don't care for how the hardtop seals rest against the framework. They get squished where they meet the tubes. I just spaced them up with a few rags, thats it.

Aside from that, it just sits in the patio all summer long, no worries.
