Hardtop strikers vs soft top strikers
Still sorting out parts bin that came with recently purchased my06 with hardtop.
One stiker has a rubber insert in the center with approx 3/8 inch rubber block sticking out the side facing windshield and the other striker is solid metal and has a longer tang at the top which makes it look like it didn't work.
Anyone know what's up with these. I do not know what strikers are on the vehicle and am about to put the hardtop on but do not know if I need to do something with the parts that are installed. I get some wind noise currently.
Anyone got ideas?
Thanks

Its not that hard to get the molding off. Be sure to find a screwdriver that fits perfectly. The screws that hold the strikers on can be torqued REAL TIGHT and you don't want to strip one out. I have closed my softtop with the hardtop strikers on. It provides a tighter fit. Not sure why Honda made two types/sizes of strikers? They also have two types of latches.

I still have the hardtop on the rack and it is snowing here so the vehicle isn't going anywhere for awhile. Guess I will try to remove the current strikers and see what's what. The size of the screws look like the proper screwdriver is a must. I don't want to mess anything up but would like to get it right before the hardtop goes back on. I'll give it a try this weekend.
Thanks
Thanks to all for the advice.

Be careful removing the oem strikers cause theyre known to have Loctite on the screws from the factory. Mine did and it was a nightmare to take them off till my friend put a torch to them lol

had one hardtop striker and one softop striker installed. looked like previous owner tried to remove drive side softop striker but gummed up the screw head. torched one enough to unscrew it but had to speedout the other.
speedout worked great and got new screws from honda dealer. now matching hardtop strikers on and much quiter with softop. dont have the hardtop on yet but expect it will be quiter too.
