Default Hardtopr removal

is the oem hardtop a hassle to take off if you want to take off on a sunny day?

from what i heard nope, just need 2 people and a place to store it. less then 50 pounds shouldnt be a problem for 2 people to take off on each side

Very easy indeed. You undo the front latches like you do the soft top. Then pull the front latches forward and then it lifts right off.

It goes back on just as easy.

I can remove the oem one by myself just usually need someone there to help get it back on ... though it can be done alone.

Yeah, you can take it off by yourself, you can even put it on by yourself. Some guys have hoists mounted in the garage, and I did too, in my old house, but I haven't bothered to put it back up since I moved. A bicycle hoist from target plus a bent pipe, a hook, and a few straps are all you need. Lots of pictures on here if you search.

Some tips for doing it yourself:

Put something on the HT posts so you don't have to worry about the paint (I use drilled nylon balls, but you could use anything).

Take your shoes off so you don't have to worry about stepping on the seat.

Don't do it in public. You'll look like a dork.
