Default Has anyone cleared or put Ricks diffusers in your lights that have clear-bra???

I'm on the verge of ordering some JDM smoked Ricks diffusers, but I'm not sure if the the clear-bra on my headlights can withstand being in the oven, or being blasted with a hot air gun. Has anyone done this? I don't want ruin my clear-bra.

thanks

The adhesive on the clear bra becomes pliable just like the adhesive on the headlight assembly. But if you don't peel it off it won't come off. At lease mine didn't.

I have the 3M Scotchcal. I love it. It's the best thing I've done to my car to protect it from road debris

I actually took mine off because I felt it was destroying my headlights.

There's been some bad stories on putting the 3M film on the headlights itself. Ask SCS2K or maybe not since it was a pretty poor situation.

From what I've seen at Stongard, that headlight stuff is pretty thick (may heat things up beyond specs). I think it actually distorts the lens area and while you may not suffer from less light output, the headlights are "colored" in a way as it has to go through plasticky film that wasn't ever intended to be on there in the first place. So you lose some of that jewel-like look of the HID lights.

I'd save the $$$ and politely pass on this mod.
