Default Has anyone got the 2nd gear grind fixed?

I have a silverstone 2006 with less than 3000 miles on it. I get the 2nd gear grind during the first 10-25 minutes of driving. Also, kind of notchy shifting into 3rd. Kinda ruins the whole ownership experience.
I've rad that a lot of older S2000's have the grind problem. Havent read about any newer cars (2006+) with it.
Question: Have anyone actually had this fixed to your satisfaction? Lots of posts from people with the problem but not many posts saying the problem is gone!
If you had this problem & had it fixed, what was involved? How many days in the shop?
Thanks in advance for your feedback.

I am guessing that you need to replace the 2nd and 3rd gear synchros. It could also be that your clutch is out of adjustment. Try double clutching (push in clutch move from 1st to neutral, release clutch, push clutch again and put into second) If that removes the grind then I would say it is your synchros.

I could be wrong, I am still learning alot about this car as I have only had it for about 2 weeks. Most of my experience comes from a B16A swapped CRX that did not have a hydraulic clutch, so it is slightly different. Hopefully someone else will chime in and either back me up or tell me to STFU. Thats weird a new s2k will have that problem, mine has the 1-2 grind in high rpm. I know usually a transmission fluid change will help it but I doubt your car needs that already. Take it in to the dealership and see what they can do.

is it a grind or is just the notch? if its the notch then that norm all s2000's do it u just have to learn how to shift it right so that it wont do it. when shifting into 2nd its a two step shift, u cant just ram it in there.

My06 was notchy at first but it begins to get smoother with age now at almost 7K miles, also I have a 1-2 grind when close or at to the rev limiter which is driver error doesn't do it if I shift at 7.5-7.8k.

I fixed it on my car.......moved the seat forward! Realized that I wasn't pushing the clutch all the way in only after I felt the difference...

The smoothest shifts for me happen when I hit the rev limit just once and lift at the perfect time as the rpms "bounce" off of the rev limit. It almost feels like the engine slows down faster than if I was to just lift. Even then it is a slight 2 step, basically you just have to find the right amount of pressure to put on the shifter so that when the rpms match the gear it falls right into place. I must admit, I am pretty good at rev matching. I can shift without a clutch 2-6 up or down

MY05 has same issue. I have found after the tranny warms up it usually disappears. Also try shifting around 3500 rpms when tranny is cold seems to be the sweet spot.

Try keeping your foot barely on the Gas so the RPMS keep steady or even raise when you shift. This kind-of like rev matching...however, you're not shifting down... Yeah....

Works for me and we have some really cold morning starts here. Goes in like butter every time.
