Default Has Anyone Heard Honda Discontinuing Hardtop?

Hey All, I have recently been looking into buying an OEM Hardtop and read somewhere that Honda is discontinuing production of them. This sucks, and I understand they are no longer producing the car, but aren't they suppose to continue manufacturing parts for 10 years? Or maybe not since it's technically an accessory?
I would love some input on this. They're already pretty hard to find used, so I can only imagine how hard it will be once production is stopped.

Thanks!!

Wern't they standard with the non-soft top CR ? If so, might be available in black only . Perhaps you have to prove you own a CR ? Dont't know.

According to a local dealership, you need the VIN# of your CR & proof of damage to the original top. Who knows if this is true.

The best thing to do would be contact local Honda dealers to see if any would be able to order one for you.

The 10 year thing is a bit of a myth. The 10 year policy came from a parts policy GM used to have, but there was never an official legal requirement so companies frequently stop making parts almost as soon as a vehicle goes out of production.

Honda is generally good about availability of parts on old cars, so again, call around to a few local dealers.

Well since they are no longer making the s2k it would make sense that they would also discontinue the hardtop.

Especially, for all except a relatively few CRs, the hardtop is an accessory not a replacement part.

the s2k hardtop is discontinued as an accessory.

honda still supplies hardtops for CR's as replacement parts but those parts are not sold the same way as the accessory hardtops. the CR tops are sold as individual components. look it up on hondaautomotiveparts.com. by the time you get all the parts to assemble a hardtop, it'll be well over $4000.
