Do you ever wish the hardtop came standard?
Im personally not the type to cruise with the top down and wouldve preferred if the s2k came with the hardtop standard like the cr. That and the benefits of not having to worry so much about theft. Personally i think honda shouldve done what other car manufacturers do and make a hardtop version first then have the option for a convertible later.
I would take it a step further and say I wish they would have offered a coupe
(I think its actually what you are saying though). They didn't so I made my own, bought a Ht and gutted the soft top
.
For the record I did it before they released the CR... though even if I would have been shopping for a MY with the Cr in the line up, I probably would not have bought it. I like the MY 04-05 the best (dont care for drive by wire or VSA).

i wish they had made it with a retractable hard top. i love top down driving, but would like the slash resistant hard top for personal comfort. i wouldnt like having to wax the roof though. its kinda tough for us short guys.

I love driving topdown in my CR but then I cant park anywhere.
With the hardtop its just not as fun driving around but I can park wherever and not worry about coming back to a slashed top.

I think if Honda had designed a coupe first and then made it a convertible later, the convertible would not have looked as good when the top is up. In other words, it would have looked like an afterthought. I can't think of one coupe-originated soft-top convertible that looks good with the top up. Some of the worst offenders come to mind: Eclipse, Solara, 3-series, etc. The 350Z may be a bit better, but the trunklid lines one the side are not very well executed.
Now if you are like Mazda and had planned on offering a HT some time during a car's life-cycle like it does the MX-5, that's a different story
