I'm not really interested in the types of girls who are attracted to me because of the car I drive. I bought the car because it was a dream of mine to obtain, not to be a chick magnet. In fact, I haven't recieved any notable attention from the opposite sex, just the random question "Is that a Porsche?" or "Does that have a V12?"

in short, no.

Funny I should see this thread.

The story:

A while back I met a girl in one of my classes and she seemed to be a big flirt. At the time she had a boyfriend but it didn't look like the relationship was going well. For instance after class she would go hang out with me instead of her boyfriend. We didn't talk for a while and when I met her again I found out she had broken up with her B/F so I asked her out. She said she didn't want to relationship because she had just gotten out of one. I tried real hard for the next couple of weeks to no avail so I decided to give it a rest. I thought if she really wanted to be with me then she would've said yes by now. (this was during the summer)

Last week she gives me a call and asked if I had the textbook from a class that I took with her this semester (I took the class so I could spend time with her, but things didn't go as planned so I dropped it) I told her no I didn't have the book but I still had some notes if she wanted them then she could meet me in the parking lot a take them.

Later that day she comes out to meet me in the parking lot to pick up the papers. She sees the S but didn't say anything (I drove an old corolla and an MR2 before I bought the S).

A day later I get a phone call from her, she tells me that she wants to "hang out". I'm thinking in my head "gotcha bitch!" She said she was at the mall and wanted me to meet up with her. I gave her a "definitely maybe" reponse and would have gone to meet her but I decided to flake instead remembering that she used to flake on me a lot. She called me back later that day but I said I was on my way to work. She sounded dissapointed.

Oh well, maybe I'll take her to disneyland since I won free tickets at the company raffle and see how this turns out.

Other than that, I've gotten a "Is that a BMW?" from a few girls.

s2k_dreams, that's a story out of a movie. Concept from movie (not you) : nerdy guy tries to get girl. nerdy guy goes out of way [i.e. takes classes to see her]. nerdy guy fails. nerdy guy later becomes cool [i.e. buys a sweet car, or just plain becomes a cool guy]. nerdy guy takes revenge.) The end of the story is always the same. Ex-nerdy guy will fall in love with the girl after she shows much affection. The girl finds out later about the revenge plot and storms off, even though the revenge plot has already been canceled. Nerdy guy shows up in awesome car (i.e. S2000) and begs for forgiveness in a beautiful setting. They have sex.

Go get her s2k_dreams!

No, but it's practically led me to divorce a couple of times.

Why are you still driving it though?

Time to get a minivan, like my cousin did. His reasoning: Girls at clubs will see him as the "sensible" man and ready for a relationship. His grand plan was to pick up some hot, blonde who wears size 0 clothing, in his MINIVAN. Then he'll drive his Miata on the 2nd date. I think you all know the results from his master plan.

Poor Cahzmo.
My wife loves the S2000 as much as I do, and wouldn't want to risk losing it in a divorce.
