Default has this shift knob thing gone too far?

I'm getting a bit bored by the latest round in the shift knob wars. All this fuss over a clump of metal.

Not just a clump of metal, it is a critical user interface and if it is less than perfect you will have to make allowances for it instead of concentrating on other driving issues. This was the whole reason I replaced mine with a Voodoo knob very early.. the stock knob was not the right interface for me.

cthree ... since I am manufacturing shift knobs I'll reply. Many months ago I posted that I started out to make myself a shift knob. It was a personal project which evolved into requests from members for the same. Since then other sponsors have decided to do the same. Regardless I don't see myself at war with the other sponsors of shift knobs and I somehow doubt they do either (at least I hope not). Please look carefully at my posts and you will see that I am only replying to questions from other members and just looking back at Rick's posts he is too as far as I can see .i.e. We are not bumping them up with 'TTT' posts. Do you want us to stop answering questions about our products from members?

I just saying there are 3 separate shift knobs hitting the market at the same time. I'm looking for reaction from the members as to whether they think it's a bit much.

cthree,
Variety is the spice of life or so they say. I'm still waiting for one with an 8 speed pattern on it.

cthree - allow me to respond.

I bought knob A, as soon as I took it out of the box I realized it would not be the correct knob for my hand, you see- size does matter. Now I'm about to order knob B, and when I get that I'm sure I will be very happy.

If it was not for all the posts, and I'm most likely in all of them, I would not be the educated consumer in which I now am. Therefore I think "all of the posts" offer a value, if they did not, I suspect there would be very few replies.

One of the greatest things this forum offers, is the ability to become an educated consumer. Plus, we have a devoted group of people who are willing to develop, produce and sell new products that will directly elevate the enjoyment of this great car.

This is a beautiful thing! The posts offer value! Thanks.

what I find amazing is that they all look the same. Obviously Rick's is going to because that is the Voodoo knob.

Yes, it is a bit much, but could it be because it's a phallic symbol?

Actually, the Team Voodoo knob has been around for ten years, and a version (which was developed with the assistance of early S2000 owners) was created for S2000s within the first several months of the S2000 hitting US shores. Many S2000 owners have been buying the Voodoo knob directly from Bob since then. The only change is that a board sponsor is now offering them, and at a much lower price than they can be had directly from Team Voodoo.

There may be "3" or more out there, but there is only ONE that I wanted, (and I bought it 2 hours ago).
