Default has your top motor gone out?

over in the wackiest forum on this board (if you havent figured out which one i am referring to, you havent been there!!), we have an interesting (to us wackos anyway) thread-
the question in that thread is for those of us who never put their tops up, except when we "have to" :
is there a recommended max length of time you can keep the top down before putting it up, just to exercise the top motor??

has anyone had their top motor go out, and if so how often did you put it up and down?

not that this is any record, i have put my top up and down now almost every day since new, sometimes 3 times a day, so figure i have had it almost 4 years now, since 11/03 and had no issues. so the top motor and assemble seems characteristically honda quality....

oh..i have had the top replaced and the top frame...both due to vandalism, someone trying to open the top with no battery power! bent the frame, so mine has endured that extra abuse.

There's never been a single instance reported on this site of a top motor going out. If it had, be sure we would have heard about it.

No motors going out, but I will mention that the top should be put up regularly (esp when the car is stored) as it helps keep the top in shape and keeps the elastic from wearing out.

I'm having my top motor replaced but that's only because my top is having problems raising and lowering and the dealership isn't sure what the problem is.

I'm at 40,000 miles on a my02.
