Default have a civic. want a used s2k.

Hi, everyone. I'm new here.
I test drove the s2000 a month ago and fell in love; I really want one now.
My 07 civic is worth $11,000, and I'm planning on using all that money from selling my civic to get a used s2000.

The dilemma is, I don't know if it would be a good idea to get rid of a perfectly mechanically sound car (perfectly boring too, I might add), to get the car of my dreams with around one hundred thousand miles...

I'm worried that I will face tons of mechanical problems and repair costs if I get a used s2000 with a high amount of miles.

My civic will last me a lifetime, I'm sure. But the amount of driving satisfaction I get from it is close to none.

My best friend's cousin is an expert when it comes to inspecting a used s2000, so I wouldn't have any problems in that sector when selecting a used car.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Some help and guidance would be much appreciated.

Thanks everyone, have a wonderful day

100k isn’t that many miles for an s2k. It may be worn visually, but it should be good mechanically as long as it was well maintained.

like he ^^ said, as long as the S is maintained you should be set. S2k is a beautiful car and will bring much more please than a civic. s2k FTW!

Depends on your priorities. Obviously, the S will be much more enjoyable to drive. You have to decide what your priorities are and base your decision of that...examples of priorities:

Do you need trunk space?
Can you afford insurance?
Do you live in a sketchy area?
Do you live in an area where you can own a RWD convertible?
Etc..

Good luck!

My advice when it comes to this kind of stuff is as followed: save your money, until you can afford the exact car you want. Do not settle for anything less. Buy it cash.

You'll thank me later.

Although I agree that you should have the money saved to by a car, using the oppertunity to finance the car to build credit is a good idea.

It's only a good idea when you can afford the monthly payments. <--- you'll be surprised at how many people forget that part of the equation.
