Precisely why mine has a Japanese name. My S is male and named Akaryu, derived from kanji meaning "red dragon". I am Akaryuu. The additional "u" implying dragon spirit, I am the spirit of the red dragon (read: driver, with us coming together as a single unit).
I always name my cars, and the name origin always matches that of the country it was made in. Most hilarious name: my 96 GT Mustang was Tyrone because he was big and black.
