Default Having a PITA getting the exhaust nuts removed

I am trying to remove my stock exhaust and the 3 bolts are killing me. I have loostened them all the way and tehy come to the end of the bolt but get extremely tight. WD-40 wont even budge them. The bolt looks like it was hammered on the end to prevent the nuts from falling off. I was able to get one off but the other 2 wont even budge. even woth going back and forth.

How did you guys get them off? I'm thinking of having a shop do it but I would rather do it myself if I can. Anyone?? Help!!!

I think you may have crossthreaded them. That happened to one of mine and my buddies bolts while removing the exhaust as well. I just unscrewed the bolt while using pliers to pull on the bolt to get it off the stud. I'm not sure if that helps much.

If you haven't munged the nuts up yet, run them back up the stud, then use the proper size die to recut the stud threads...

you should take it to a shop. i agree with fly_s2k, you probably crossthreaded them. no good. it just happend to me awhile ago, but its an easy fix. just remember, if its beginning to get a lil hard to get off, stop and take it somewhere.

Actually I looked at that. They arent crossthreaded but the bolt gets wider at the tip and prevents the nut from coming off. It looked like Honda stamped the center of the threaded bolt to widen it for some reason. I know sometimes they do this to keep the nut from falling off, but this is redicilous!!!

Yeah, thats what I figured. I bolted everything back up and plan on taking it down and let someone else do it. That way if they mess it up, they are responsable. I just am afraid to leave my baby in the hands of someone else. He's still new!!!

If you have access to an impact wrench, that will do it. If not, try tapping your ratchet/wrench with a hammer.
