do u think it would work if you put up a sign on your dash that said "please dont slash the top, the doors are unlocked and there is nothing inside."

 

and then when they find out your doors are really locked they will slash your top

 

it's really a catch 22.
Senario a) They check your doors find nothings inside, and steal your seats.

Senario b) They open your car, and steal it.

Senario c) They slash your top just because you said not too.

 

to those thieves who don't have the cojones to slash the top it will be an open invitation to come in for a nap or to relieve themselves.

 

I think you spend too much time worrying about stuff. Go out and have some fun!

On of my criminology professors was a police officer, and he said the best way to avoid damage to you car and not get your stuff stolen is to leave the doors unlocked and don't leave your stuff inside. This is a good idea for people with regular cars, but the reason people break into our cars is to steal the seats, so I wouldn't leave the doors unlocked, at least make them work to get in there to steal the seats.

Not a thief so I wouldnt no, but common sense would say to lift the door handle before making a disturbance by breaking something.
