Header for '04+
I've been searching this for a few days, and while I have seen all the pros and cons for each header, I can remember seeing is for 99-03. I'm looking towards the Mugen for midrange power, but if any 04+ owners have dyno runs/driving impressions, it would really be appreciated!
Like I said, I searched for a while but if this is an old topic, please point me in the right direction and sorry to beat a dead horse...

Your problem is that if there was an MY04 owner with an aftermarket header installer, he would have to post here to be of help. the bulk of the mod'ing owners are drive the older cars. I do know that there is a number of MY04 owners that have purchased our header, but since only a handful have shipped, there is not much info out there.
Sorry, I wish I could have been more help.

If I feel up to it, I might get a before dyno on my MY04 before I install the Rick's Plus 6 header and then an after dyno. May not be able to do it on the same day though depending on how slow I am at installing the header
We'll see though - no promises, cuz dyno runs aren't exactly free

but you never know if it's any good untill somebody tries it. Just like the guy who bought the $30 cold air intake of ebay.

I dunno about OBX for the S2000 but OBX makes headers for the J30/32 (2nd gen CL/TL, and 5th(??) gen v6 Accords). They're a lot cheaper than the Comptech headers and produce the same gain (max gain +32whp, pretty impressive for headers).
Anyways, the OBX headers on the J series are a lot cheaper but they're made a lot cheaper too. Some people have had welds crack and most people who own the OBX headers on the J series experience some resonance, that is an unwanted sound around 2000-3000rpms. It has been said to sound like someone blowing over an empty tube only louder.
In any case, its pretty much a "you get what you pay for" type of deal. For $250 you could buy 2 or 3 of them and install it yourself and still be ahead of buying a Mugen or Amuse header but is it worthwhile ? Thats your decision not mine. There's no info on gains / weight on the OBX header for the S2000 either.
BTW- Yes headerS on v6 engines (there's a pair of them)

I'm a true a believer in you get what you pay for. I've been doing a lot of research and in my opinion, I don't believe you can go wrong with any of the products from Comptech. Honda and Acura is there sole specialty. If you have questions about your '04, call them directly and they'd be happy to guide you.
Well I appreciate the info Liqice and even if you dont get a dyno up, id just be interested to hear what you have to say about the header since it sounds like a worthy buy. Rick, thanks for at least taking the time to respond back, I know theres so many posts out there that its hard to look at them all. I just figured that the AP2 has been out for approximately two years now and that someone would have installed an aftermarket header by now. Anyways, thanks for posting and if you have anymore info, let all us AP2 owners know!
