How much do these aftermarket headers weigh anyway? How much does the stock header weigh?

but with ricks you gain mid range and lose top end.

SilverKnight 05-29-2006 11:18 AM

nah you don't lose top end. I dynoed pretty good for a My00 in which the fuji and comptech intake didn't help to much and ricks probably helped out even at peak if just a little. You just gain about 6hp 4tq with it but you see midrange power increase up to 7700 or so and then maybe 1-2 at peak. With a Js you dont get mid range but see more gains at peek. But wont mean to muhc now as I hope to see more gains at FI :)

They had a test where ricks or stratocoaster said if they had driven around for 15min or so then it woulve been adjuste and see gains at top. Instead they took out header put new one in and just dynoed staight on.

I'm sure other people on here have dynoed with ricks header to :)

Buy a test pipe;whatever you do,don't buy a DC header.

Version, I'll be honest that with the J's, you will see a difference. Whether or not the price is worth it to you, the top end IS noticeable. I feel as much power increase as I did with my T1R 70 and test pipe.

If someone wants midrange, get gears. If you want to buy a header, go with a top end one.

I'm anxious to see the Megan in action as the next person. If it makes some nice top end gains, I'll be ordering one and putting my J's in the FS section believe you me. This thing was damn expensive, even though I got a spectacular deal. Let's just say I could sell it used for what I paid new and break even.

However, a top end header with single 70mm exhaust and test pipe is what is giving everyone their crazy gains. It seems to be the formula for gaining power N/A, more people should take note and stop spending 800 dollars on HKS Hi-Powers and stuff :)

I realized one of the biggest benefits of an aftermarket header the day I installed mine - the fact that that ugly, nasty looking OEM header was coming off and a beautifully welded masterpiece was going on.

a few threads down a guy just put on a Js header and didnt notice to much on top and mor e on low?
