Hey guys, I am a brand new owner and have just read the posts on the Stongard product and some other posts saying they use the Plexus product on the lens. BEFORE I do that and I do have the plexus in hand, just a little question. Are we sure that the use of Plexus on the headlight lens of the S2K is proper? I don't want to find out later that I should not have done it, etc, etc. I have the car washed, waxed, leather conditioned, etc. But have not put anything on those front headlights. Anybody been using plexus on these lens for awhile and if so could you give me the result. Also, did anyone find out if the headlight lens issue (cracking as reported by the CEO of Stongard) was really valid meaning there are a number of cases of it.

Thanks, and this board is great.

Since Plexus was originally developed to clean airplane canopies, which are hard plastic, I don't think it can be harmful to the headlight covers.

Use Plexus on headlights and bumpers whenever I wash the car
which is often (black/black). No problems.

Thanks for input. My concern was all the talk about heat build-up/chemical reactions with the stongard product and maybe Plexus would coat the lens adding to heat build up and creating a problem. While I would think not given what Plexus was designed to do...... Did the idea that there was a problem with these lens cracking ever get resolved?? Stongard pointed to Dealer in that one case but with both lenses cracking it certainly makes me hesitate on it. And no refund!!!!!!

As for SG, it looks like you use it at your own risk. There are many that have never had a problem, and one case of a serious problem. We all have heard what SG did, nothing but blow smoke.

I use Plexus, too; no problems.

I'll repeat a question here that I also asked in SCS2k's topic about getting his cracked headlights replaced:

For those who bought headlight protection, why did you buy it? What are you hoping to protect your lights from?

For everyone, have you heard of S2000 headlights being cracked or chipped by non-crash impact (other than SCS2k's, which is a different case)?

Thanks,

Ted
