Thumbs up Headlight modification questions...

I've had my s2k a few weeks. I've noticed when you look at a stock s2k, and even modified ones, you see an orange reflector lense inside the corners of the front headlights. My s2k does not have this...it is just clear as if both sides are missing the orange reflector that sits inside the plastic headlight assembly. You can see my bulb as well.

Are these some sort of projector headlight or something installed by a previous owner...or, were the orange parts just taken out? I think it looks better this way, but was wondering because I haven't seen any projector headlights for this car available.

Thanks,
Ry

you can crack the lenses open and remove the orange diffuser.. can be replaced with smoked or clear. Not a good idea to remove it completely with out replacement. So, do you have a clear diffuser, or none at all?

I do not believe I have a diffuser because I can see straight down to the light bulb. No clear lense has been installed. Just a yellow lit light bulb.

BTW, how can you get in there to replace that bulb? The one on my driver's side is burnt. I looked for a way under the hood like my old Eclipse had. Seems as if I cannot reach it back in it's cubby hole on the s2k.

Any help would be appreciated!

I took mine out as well.

To get to the lights you have to peel back the fender liner.

this is what they look like with usdm smoked diffusers:

so the choices are:
1. orange- stock
2. none, like you have
3. smoked (either usdm or jdm)
4. clear (either usdm or jdm)

Well if you want orange diffusers feel free to PM me, as I have some that you can have. They were taking out when I had my lights cleared. That or you can go the ricks route. Remember though that rick only sells the JDM style that is on mine and S2kracka car. Wanabe has the USDM version that rick no longer sells. this is a pic of my car with clear:

As mentioned above I would definitely get those bulbs if you are going clear. To the guys above your cars look good smoked.

Thanks all!

Good stuff, I think I will leave mine alone since I have clear fender side lights and silverstone paint. I've never heard of "Ricks"...are these bulbs any good? Pretty cheap for a set.
