in my theory it happens more often in poor neighborhood cuz usually HID comes equipped standard on all the luxury cars and they are not used to it
so they start to blink thinking as if they had a brights on.

Chazmo, I adjusted mine (MY04, if that matters) last week and noticed that each individual light casts an outline that is lower on the left than the right. Let me try to illustrate what I'm talking about with some ASCII art. If you cover up one light so you are only seeing the outline of the other, the top of the light outline looks something like this:

UNC, I understand what you're saying. So, each of the two headlights have a left and a right height? I'll have to check this out in the spring when I have my car back on the road. So, if I read the manual correctly, the lower edge (left) of each bulb should be adjusted to 2.1" below the center of the bulb (from 25' back).

Thanks for clarifying that! Good to learn something new, even after a few years of owning the car.

No, single adjustment per headlight. You just see some overlap.

Had a couple of incidents where people thought I was high beaming them. One guy actually wanted to fight me. I was on my way home driveng behind him and he pulls over to the shoulder. I drove by and he pulled back out on the road. He gets in front of me again then pulls over a second time. By this time I'm thinking maybe he's having car problems, so I pulled over. He does the same, then procedes to get out of his eclipse throwing his hands up in the air in anger. "Hey man, why you high beaming me, you got a problem or something!?" Its like 2am and I'm already tired, so I'm like "Dude, my lights just shine high on my car. I don't have any problem."

I swear, some people are crazy.

ikon, if you have the JDM lights, I think that explains it. I suspect on those lights, the left part of the beam is aimed higher than the right. On american roads, that's the opposite of what you want.

Following up on UNC's post before, properly aimed USDM headlights should look like the picture below (note the overlap between the "bump" in the left and right headlight); note how the left is lower than the right. I bet if you do this with your JDMs, it'll be the opposite.

What you could do is aim down both of your lights, but that' probably wouldn't be great either.
