Headrest option reviews
Maybe you are like me, and spend very little (read: none) of your S2000 driving time with a helmet embracing your head. If this is the case, then you also probably find the headrests in the car good for nothing. How do you change this? Order a headrest!
As I was very pleased with my Rick's aeroscreen, so I ordered a set of headrest inserts. Unfortunately, they were being re-designed, so I had to wait for a while. While waiting, I found that a fellow named David Nguyen was also making headrests. Not knowing when I'd get the Rick's ones, I also ordered David's. Both showed up.
The Rick's headrests are of a clever snap-in design, very easy to install. The leather is supple, and the padding molds somewhat to my head. This headrest protrudes to 1.25" beyond the seat's headrest ring.
The David's headrests are firmer and larger. The rests protrude to 2", but he also sells them at 1.5", in addition to saying that custom thicknesses are available (I have pre-measured that 2" would be about right). Installing the headrests involve taking the upper end of the seat apart, which really isn't as bad as it sounds. Four straps mate to the helmet mesh's four screws, and are quite secure.
I ended up keeping the David's headrests, although I imagine others will prefer Rick's. Most importantly, I now have a place to lean my weary skull as I hit V-TEC!

2x6spds also made headrests, which I have and love.
His require no taking apart of anything. There is a sticky backed piece of velcro that sticks to the mesh in the seatback hole, and the other side of the velcro is on the back of the headrest. The only alteration this set up needed, in my opinion, was a very easy fix. The sticky part kept coming off of the mesh, so I used a hole puncher to make several pairs of holes in that piece, then used small black zip ties to anchor the sticky part to the mesh. Problem solved, and eeeeeeasy!

I'm very glad you are happy with my headrests!! I love them also. I'd be curious to see your modification and a picture of how they look on your car.
As you know, I sent a set to Rick when he determined that his original design needed modification. I've seen the pictures of his redesigned headrests and they appear to be very similar in design and construction to mine. I asked him to send me a set and hope to get a closer look at them.
Anyway, you got just about the last set. The leather artisan who manufactured mine ended up putting so much work into each headrest insert that they were sold for far less than the actual cost to produce.
Hope you are having maximum VTEC fun and look forward to hearing from you.
