Same question but for my radar detector. If you are going fast with the top down, I can never hear my detector even on loudest setting.
buy a valentine1 w/ remote display....put it somewhere in your line of sight

Well...the vibrate doesn't work cause I can never feel it (bass from the car). I know I can always check my messages afterwards but there are calls that I need to pull over to take.

For me, I have a custom ringtone that I recorded onto the phone. It's from a Honda V10 screaming down the Indy straightaway during the United States F1 GP. It's so loud I can't miss hearing it, even with the top down

Anyone here have any experience with jawbone? www.jawbone.com It's a cellphone headset that's suppose to cut down on ambient noise while amplifying your conversation. I am thinking of getting it for my wife since she's a heavy (aren't all women ) cellphone user.

I've heard that "the BOOM" is suppose to be the best headset. Cost is up there though.

I grabbed a phone mount that puts the cell right next to the radio door.

It actually mounts to the same holes as the radio head unit and is bent so as not to interfere with the radio door. That way, when the phone rings and lights up, you can see it. Even better at night, when I am charging it, it is constantly lit up and serves as a clock for me, since the MY00 doesn't have one.

Works like a charm!

Don't read into this, but I put my V60 on vibrate between my legs. You will definitely feel that vibration, and you don't have to fuss with getting is out of your pocket.

It works.

LOL I was just going to post this same thing. I've done this for a long time. I can't feel it vibrate in my pocket because, the vibrations of the door numb it out.

Just wait until your passenger asks to make a call on your cell... and you pull it out from between your twins..

Another though- if your cell fits in that slot behind the cup holder you could keep it there and rest your elbow around it. I've been able to feel it vibrate there before, but not as consistently.

Hockey any pics of your cellphone holder?

The jawbone looks pretty interesting. They are using some of the same technologies as the Bose headphones. I do research on noise reduction systems, these systems where the speech signal is brought in from an outside source tend to work pretty well.

As for talking on the phone with your top down I would recommend against it. The signal simply needs to be too loud to understand so your really beating on your ears. Keep the conversation short <10 min and there's no problem but try to avoid any hour long chats
