I'm finally brave enough to take my babii out of hibernation today. As most of you know, Chicago was hit with a *HeatWave* for the past couple of days. The temp is in the low low 40s. I"m not as brave as GREG/JASON so i waited until today to unleash her. I was so happy/excited when i look at her. Can't wait to crank it up. I was a little confuse at first, stumbling trying to works the radio (Its been 2+ months). It took me a couple of shifts and i'm right at home. I drove for 30miles around city/lake for no reason. When i got home i decided that i wanted to try a little burnout, so i took her around the neighborhood looking for an empty/moist road. Smoking the tires is WAY harder than i though. The only thing that was burning is my clutch (OUCH!). I tell ya, its smelled like crack, and it's not the type that you'll smoke. . After a few tries, i *think* i see smokes coming out of the rear. But it could have been the exhaust. Well i will try it again tomm if the weather cooperate. Hope the weather will get better and better everyday.

Smoky burnouts are easy! Just take it to 8 or 8.5k and sidestep the clutch - really, sidestep it. That will light the tires up nicely. Be aware that it will also probably go sideways! Just remember that if you are smoking slipping the clutch, you're not letting off (i.e. dropping) it fast enough.

Glad to see you got the car out, Nick! We enjoyed ours today by driving up to King (awesome) and getting the Mugen exhaust installed.

Yea, it was awesome out today. I was driving topless all day after I had Scarlet's new tires put on...

It was great to be out top down today...the streets were a little wet cuz of the melting snow, but I took some pics...

Here are pics!

Here's one of a freshly Zaino'd Scarlet...she looks magnificent!

Thanks for the tips Jason. How far is King from chicago? isn't it in IN? I was thinking of the dropping the top too. But it's not a wise idea when driving in the city. Waters is drippings everywhere when you're under tunnels or bridges.
Great pics Greg. I can't believe you Zaino'd your car in this weather. Well the temp is going to be great for sat and sun, and i hope the snows in the alley will melts somemore. I had problems getting the S back in to the garage.

gregstevens has got to a be a maniac or an S2k fanatic to driving around with the top down with snow on the streets like that. A true S2K'er. I feel for you guys in states where it snows, must be painful to just let the car sit in car all winter. =( It rains in CA, but never snows and springs almost hear for top down driving for the next 7-10 months. hehehe

Way to go Greg! I drove home from work last night with the top down as well. Stopped for gas and people just looked at me like I was nuts. Couldn't wipe the smile off my face though! Man what a great feeling! I only had the heater on 2 clicks too, mostly blowing on my hands, that was the only think that got a little chilly. I didn't want to wear bulky gloves so I could really enjoy all the feel of the road. Now I'm good for another couple of weeks!

BTW: YoungS2k, King is west of Milwakee on 94 towards Madison. It's probably about 1:45 or 2 hours for you? Depends on traffic. I've never been there myself but have shopped there electronically

You guys took your cars out today? Damn, I knew I should have driven it today. I thought about it for a second, but on B96 this morning, the weather reported for today was a good chance of snow.

On Mon. and Tues. I spent a good 5 hours cleaning my baby. I drove it on Wed. and Thurs. and haven't stopped thinking about my car since.

I kinda wish I was going to the TN with the guys this weekend. But DAMNIT, I gotta work.

Anyone know what other careers and IT professional can transition into. People bitch and moan that IT 'tech-heads' get paid too much, but damn besides being a Doctor, I've never seen anyone else working such insane amount of hours. . .my job is so non-nine to five-ish.

Yep... King is in Sullivan, WI. About 1.5 from northern suburbs. It's off the highway F exit from 94W toward Madison. Nice drive. We had the top down all the way back home! Mugen exhaust sounds great. Pics on the way.
