Default help!! 2002 3rd gear problem

I bought 02 s2k about 2 weeks ago. (used)

but I notice when I shift into the 3rd gear, I feel something is blocking the way a little bit, like a metal.

I don't think it makes a noticable noise. (maybe a small noise but can't remember for sure)

It does go in without a lot of pressure but it makes a bit of clickin feeling. but it doesn't happen all the time. (about 75% of the time, it happens)

is this something normal to u guys?

This is the 1st time for me to own a manual car. so I can't figure it out.

I don't want to waste my time and money (i'm broke now) to check up with honda dealership.

Of course, if I have to, I will.

Any, I mean any kind of help would be great.

thx.

This is normal, in time you will find a way into 3rd that will not give you this little "hit".

I have this problem as well, but it seems to happen less frequently now (3400 miles on the odo). I have complained to my dealership about it since day one, but they too keep telling me it's 'normal'. My position is that if I can drive another MY02 and not have it happen, then one of the two cars is 'not normal'. My reasoning always falls on deaf ears though...

NORMAL???

YES!

I had the same exact problem and from what i've read and heard, it is due to the close gears and synchcros.
I actually had the 3 gear replaced in mine not too long ago and its still doing the same shit....

I've learned to shit into 3rd a split second late while pushing the gear in while pulling the shift knob slighty to the left.
I haven't really had any more problems since.

It goes away all together after the tranny warms up.

"Problem" might be the wrong word to use here. Maybe "idiosycracy" is better. When any car is your FIRST manual, nothing feels "normal" till you get used to it. And then when something is really wrong, how are you to tell?

I don't have the problem as much if I let her rev up a little higher before shifting into 3rd.
