Default Help!!!!

I went to the gas station last night, I ask him to fill it up wih 94, as I always do. He starts to fill it up, I look back at the pump to see how much it is and realize the moron, was filling it up with regular
It was too late as it was just about done
How bad is this for the engine, and what can I do to get it out of the car, is there anyway they can drain it???
Someone help.

Dave

Just burn the tank out. Don't drive it hard. You won't have any problems. The ECU will compensate. You will just have less power. If you are really worried you can always add an octane booster.

Should be OK if you take it easy. Listen for detonation. How much regular gas was added? You can add octane booster (bad for the catalytic converter if used to often) or syphon the tank off if it really bothers you.

Relax it's happened to me twice. Got use to pumping 87 on the Civic and my mom's car. You'll notice the difference in performance but no biggie. At least you didn't put Diesel in. Then you'd really be S.O.L. Look at the bright side now you just have an excuse to drive around and waste some gas

Been there, done that.

Nothing to get alarmed about. It'll burn out and then be long gone after you run another tank full through.

hey, I consistently use 87 octane in my 94 Prelude VTEC. and not just any 87 octance, but the cheapest, most generic-est stuff. LIke at the quick stops and arcos. Its got 185k+ miles. Its basically a beater and I dont' care, so, I just get regular oil changes and tune ups and it runs great. and I save money.

If your really concerned, you could always add some octane boost.

gas stations still have people pump gas for you? well if you want something done right you gotta do it yourself. But other than that your car will be okay.

My understanding is that occassionally running a tank of regular gas through a car designed for high octane should not be of any detriment to the car.
