I am trying to do a debate on the new law that just recently past in San Diego for spectators of an illegal race.

The law says that if you are a spectator of an illegal race, you can be fined for up to 1,000 or 6 months in jail time.

And here is where I need your help!
I don't seem to be able to find any specific info on "what happens if you get caught racing?" What is the law on that in San Diego? Can someone help?

What is the fine?

What happends with your car?

Also, if you know a good website on this topic, please refer me to it so I can site the info.

Thanks

I know that this is the wrong forum to post this topic .... therefore I am sorry. I didn't know what forum to post.

I am not sure what happens if you get caught racing however in many states if someone is killed they are now charging street racers with Murder rather than manslaughter. You can be charged even if it was the other car that caused the fatality. Something to think about before you do something stupid.
