Read his second post again. Sounds to me like he's talking about the threads, not the bumper.

 

I had one of those threaded inserts fall back into the bumper. I had to take the whole bumper cover off to get it out and put it back in. I only used double sided tape to hold it...but I'm sure it would have been much smarter to use epoxy.

genrec, if you have to take off the bumper cover, don't worry. It's not too difficult and only took me about 20 minutes to take it off and put it back on. A second person would make it even easier. I have an AP1, so I don't know if the AP2 bumper cover is much different to remove, but it shouldn't be much harder. Good luck

Genrec, sounds like you should follow Dean's advice to get the screw capture holes to stay in place.

Happened to me as well. So I got some clear silicone to fix the problem. I put some of it on the plug and basically glued it on the bumper.

 

I had the exact problem a couple weeks ago. Fish out by taking the license plate bolt and thread it through. While pulling the bolt towards you, pinch on the end of the clip before pushing the clip in....same thing for the other side.

 

I kinda follow and thought about this...please go into detail a bit more..

2007? Take it to the dealer and tell em to fix it under warranty.

 

I had this happen to my 2004 after the front bumper was replaced. The body shop didn't push the screw-holder onto the plastic studs far enough. The threaded (screw-holder) piece snaps onto two little plastic studs on the inner part of the bumper. The body shop had to drop the bumper again to push the piece back on properly. I'm sure the other ideas posted on here work just as well. I just didn't want my bumper plugs glued fast to the nose.

The dealership should take care of this @ no cost to you naturally, but I'm not one for having the dealership mess with my car, I'd much rather do it myself... I'm anal that way which I know a lot of the members on this forum are as well.
