Default Help! - Condensation Inside Headlamp

I had my headlights cleared and Rick's clear diffusers installed several months ago by a company in Florida. Soon after started getting condensation in both headlights, but worse in the passenger side. I decided to buy a new set of lamps and have Rick's guy do the conversion. Just got them yesterday and had them installed today. Now I am getting condensation in the passenger lamps. Any one got a clue why? I know that they were sealed properly! Could something be forcing condensation into the lamps? Any ideas???

I had this problem. It was the result of not seating properly the rubber seals on the bulb sockets. I had lots of condensation in one housing, so much that when I pressed on the front of the lamp, water drops would run down the inside.

I've let mine sit for a month just because the weather has been so bad, and it's dried out by istelf -- so nature did the job for me. On the next dry, low humidity day, I'll reseat all the rubber seals and everything should be fine.

There have been several threads on this topic, so you might want to do a search.

I spoke to Jeff and we both believe that a gasket was left off of the headlamps allowing condensation to enter the lamps. I am a little perplexed as was Jeff because the weather in Florida is dry and cool. I am going to have the dealer investigate it and hopefully get it resolved quickly.

I had the same problem. It was because I didn't seal the casing fully. I took the light out again and did the bake routine. I then had condensation on the halogen part of the lights after pulling the light from the oven. After setting it at room temprature, it went away.

What you show in your thread happens when you move the opened Headlights from a colder location (House with AC) to a warmer on (outside w/ humidity). Since that part of the headlight assy is metal and glass it acts like a cold coke can and condisation builds up quickly. Becasue the HID and Highbeam holes is the back of the headlight were open when the temp changed, the air was pulled in.

I have seen this same thing a few times at group installation. They just need to change temps slower when open.

My answer was going to be "because there were obviously not sealed properly" but after reading some of the responses....well, I guess it is a little more complicated than that.

I haven't had a single problem with mine....they have been done for over 3 months now.
