hey you guys my 00 s2k is making a clinking sound, sounds like it is coming from the engine itself, please advise to on what to do, i havent had a engine light come out, please help me. HELP MY HONDA!!

i dont have warrant for it but i do have a warranty from the bank its like an extended warranty.

ok well the clinking sound comes from the engine itself, its alot louder than before, cause today we change the sparks and the engine oil but im going to a engine shop to run diognostics

 

also if something is wrong with the engine or the cylinders wouldnt i be getting a check engine light? also its freaking loud its annoying

i know that a loud clicking can be the timing chain tensioner. i had one go out on my 03 at 40k miles. try to listen where its coming from. theres A LOT of moving parts in the engine, so its hard to say what exactly it is. are you sure its a clicking, and not for of a knocking?

 

no, a damaged engine will not always throw a CEL.

 

yeah its a knocking its coming from the far back engine so could this be the timing chain tensoner? how much did you have to pay for parts and labor
