Default HELP "H" Badges Front / Rear

Well I ordered a set of Red "H" badges from the front and rear of my car. I installed the rear one fine... sticks like crazy. When I went to install the front one I noticed that the curve of the badge does not exactaly match the curve of the front bumper. So I pressed really hard and took a hair dryer to the adhesive and got it to stick fairly well. Well then driving up the highway I see this red shiny thing go flying up over my car. I pull over and sure enough it's gone

Well I just ordered another one and I'm kinda having the same problem (this one does stick a little bit better though). It seems like either the bottom will be stuck and the top is slighly raised up or vice versa. Has anyone else had this problem. If so does anyone have any good solutions?

Did you order the real Honda ones (search the forum for the part #'s, those are the ones I have) or did you buy the cheap imitations?

There should be two circular metal pressure clips that attach to the front posts (accessible from the inside of the bumper). They would prevent this sort of thing from happening.

I have the Red ones made by Honda, and have not had any trouble with them. Went on, stuck great and has been there ever since.

Hello -

A slightly different problem here (sorry) but...

I just got my black chrome badges, and I'm having difficulty removing the original clips from the front. My arm doesn't fit from the top (i tried once, and took my top layer of skin off in the process... ), and trying to maneuver a pair of pliers, etc. thru the top isn't working well either. Aside from taking off the bumper, is there any trick to getting them (the retaining clips) off?

Thanks so much...

I used a sharp chisel to break the posts off of the back of the stock H badge. I could not get them off any other way.

I'll try that - Thanks!!! When in doubt, a little controlled violence may just work...

I pulled them off with my fingers. The posts finally snapped.

Ohh nevermind, I'm an Idiot... You have to spread the metal clips so it stays in and locks... doah!
