help with hardtop noise. might need adjustment??
I've recently installed a hardtop on my s2k, i bought it used off a s2ki member and after installing i notice a lot of noise coming from the top while im driving. The front 2 catchers are on losely, its still holding the top on but i can tell its on very lose because it makes clanking sounds everytime i drive over a ditch or bump. The rear catchers are lose too because i can hear sounds coming from there also. What i want to know is how can i adjust the hardtop to sit closer and tighter with the chassis.... any tips and pictures will be very helpful! thanks!

First, you need to download a copy of the installation instructions and follow the adjustment instructions. Basicall the rear is adjustable on the hardtop itself. Snap off the plastic covers over the rear hardware and you will find they are attached to the HT with 3 bolts. The screws are slotted so you can adjust it. The front latches are adfjusted with shims under the HT llatches.

My HT was pretty tight and solid. I popped it off today to liberally treat the rubber parts whith Shin-etsu. Damn thing is now back on and is loose as all hell.
I don't think it's the Shin-etsu that did it, but rather the breaking of the clean rubber seals. When the seals were made again, the dirty road-grime coated rubber shifts around more.
