Don't you guys also have to depress the clutch to start? This is a safety feature introduced because you guys are so litigation hungry (and over familiar with slushomatics). In the rest of the world, you press that button with the car in gear and it'll lurch forward and mow down your grandma.

The idea behind the start button is that it is a race restart button. You're at the apex of corner 6 and you get on the gas too early. The rear steps out and you spin, go off the side of the track and stall. You declutch, stab the Red Start button and get back in the race. Not need to remove your gloves and fiddle with the key chain.

You shouldn't have any problems with the starter. As for running over the milk carton, you should have no problems with that either. Just be careful when running over plastic bags. They can melt to the exhaust and smell up the car really bad.
