Default HELP! Ipod interface AND Cd player. Is it possible?

So I just got an S2K and I LOVE IT... Love everything except for the carpeted center console and the crappy sound system..

I'm covering the console with Rick's and as for the sound system... I'm stuck in a bind..

I prefer the stock radio look so I really don't want to buy a deck or anything of that nature.. And I've been looking for something that could play my oldy moldy ipod because that ipod is MY LIFE and the only thing I listen to..

I've done some research and read about "ipod interfaces" that have the aux connector but I believe you have to plug it into the CD plug thingy, which (I'm assuming) would mean you can only use one or the other...

Basically, I want to be able to play my ipod but also have a CD player available just in case of that improbable chance I might want to use it..
Any recommendations of what I should do? And maybe detailed installation instructions as well?

I

There is an ipod adaptor that you can buy and no, you won't have to use one or the other.

Just do a google for ipod adaptors and you'll find tons of stuff. Or if you don't feel like looking, just go to any experienced car audio shop and they will hook you up. Be prepared to spend around $300 for the entire job.

ewwww... $300 just to listen to my ipod?! I'd rather buy the new touch screen ipod than pay for that.

Thank you for the reply though.. perhaps I'll have to settle for a transmitter. bummer.

So you would rather buy a device that does exactly the same thing as your old ipod, along with some features that you probably already have on your current cell phone rather than have the ability to play your ipod in your car.

I'm sorry dude, but that's not smart. I have an ipod interface in my car and it is almost as great as driving the car. I love my music and if you actually love music and not Apple, then $300 would be worth it.

IPOD interface is not the way to go as its soo expensive.

You can buy a cheap sony deck with AUX in or an alpline deck with IPOD interface for less than $200 which will improve SQ and give you extra features.
