Default Help! Locked Keys in Car!

I was getting back from Memorial Day weekend travelling and accidentally dropped my key and key fob in the trunk of my s2000 and shut it. What can I do? If I go to a Honda dealer, can they help me? Does anyone know the best thing to do?

Thanks,

Matt

bummer man - you have anything like Roadside Assistance that may be able to help you out?

Is the passenger compartment locked too? If not, just press the remote trunk button that's in the glove box between the seats.

Good luck,
Steve R.

this might be a stretch but just call roadside assistance (or od it yourself)
and use a slim jim to unlock your car and hopefully the center console is not locked, then you can get to your trunk, besides that im out of ideas, hope it works out for you.

If the passenger compartment is locked and the top and windows are up, instead of using a Slim Jim you can open up a coat-hanger all the way and use it to open one of the door latches inside the car. Slide the coat hanger between the window glass and the window seal and unlatch the door release with the hook on the opposite side of the car. You should put some tape or something like it on the hook to avoid scratching anything during the process.

Otherwise, call AAA or a locksmith. A locksmith will definately be able to get into the trunk.

The Honda dealer can make you a new key with VIN and proof that you own it. It is easy if you go to the place you bought it from. Other than that AAA is always ready to help.

cut a hole it the top and get a screw driver and break open the center console

sorry about that..... Now you need a "hide a Key" spare

I did that once... once

2 AAA could not get into my Focus.... 2 hour later a friend brought my spare from home

Good luck doing this on the S2000 - if you do, you'll likely tear the rubber seal against the window getting the hanger in, maybe scratch the glass, and you will prob never be able to get the door unlocked with a flimsy hanger anyway. Just call AAA or some garage and they will pop the lock, eventually - its hard to get to. Of course, if your center console is locked, you might as well tow the car to a Honda dealership, or have one make you a new key.
