help me weigh my boost options?
k guys im stuck and cant make up my mind. i only want to dump money into one car and have the other as a dd......my options are a 97 240sx with 13xxxx miles or my 2000 s2k with 27k miles. the 240 would get a sr20 since its cheaper and parts are easy to get and the s2k would get s.o.s kit or a ptuning kit. my power goals are around 400hp. ive never been in a 400 hp 240 or s2k so im unsure which would be the best bet. need some input. i love both cars the same so either one im good with boostin. thanks everybody!!!!!

I would think if you were going to do the work yourself, doing the SR20 engine swap + upgrades would be a little more fun than installing a turbo kit in the S2000. Either way you go, I don't think you can go wrong. The S14 is a good deal lighter, but would take some suspension and potentially chassis work to get to where I'd rather track that than an S2000 (if that's in your plans at all).
These were kind of my two choices for my first FI car, actually. I was waiting for my friend's stock S14 to become a project car when he would eventually get a newer car, but it got totaled a little over a year ago. Unfortunately, buying them used, people ask for so much money for them, and a lot of them are heavily modded already. If you already have one and didn't pay huge for it, imo, that's what I would go for, since it wouldn't be as painful of an "investment" when things start breaking, etc.

thats what im looking for, i dont really have any intentions on tracking either car. theres not any local tracks to go to but i love hitting the backroads but i never push the cars that hard. im just looking to find a good balance in both cars. the 240 is boring to drive as it sits and the s2k is fun. im thinking if i make the 240 my power car it will also be fun to drive. if i boost the s2k it will be fun but the 240 will still be boring. hmmmmmm ill probably be into either one of them about 8k by the time i hit the 400 horse goal. im the kind of guy that does things right the first time so i usually spend a bit more for the good stuff.
