Default Help: Need Rod Caps for S2000

Hi All,

Some of you probably read the story of the repair shop that didnt tighten the oil drain screw and I have had engine problems.

They are fixing the problem but called me today to say that they need to replace the Rod Caps and that they cannot get any until January from Japan.

Does anyone have any suggestions on where to get these sooner and would having them made to specs by aftermarket company be acceptable in your opinion?

Thanks,
Dean

I would say no on having them made aftermarket. January isn't that far away.

Changing the rod cap alone generally isnt a good idea, because the cap will not match up with the rod. Then you'll just be spinning bearings. That applies to the main cap also. even if u hone out the cap to have it match the rod, it's not going to be a perfect match as before. Just some food for thought from a guy that works at a machine shop that strokes engines all day.
